Once the can or packaged salad open, we often wonder what to do: drain? rinse? eat the can juice?

The answer is simple: it depends… on your taste.

Often, the can only has water and salt on top of the vegetable. But it can also be a more prepared juice containing spices or natural flavouring which was especially prepared to be eaten with the vegetables. It is up to your taste: all juices can be eaten with the vegetable, depending on what you want. A nut of butter to garnish the carrots and peas, a drizzle of olive oil in the green beans heated up in the pan: up to you to garnish them to enjoy them best!

Only exception: legumes (white or red beans, lentils or chickpeas) which you need to rinse. Thus, limiting the risk of bloating they can cause.

For the ready to eat salad - as indicated by its name -, it is ready to be served. Containing no conservatives, already washed, rinsed and drained, it would be silly to re-do all the work!
