We regularly boast the benefits of rare products and precious fruits from across the world… while some vegetables closer to us could also deserve to be fashionable.

From here or elsewhere, superfoods are delicious to taste but also interesting to keep us in good shape. A superfood is a nutrient-rich food, notable for its composition in antioxidant, vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids. But a single product can never be a miracle, everything is about daily balance: these 4-vegetable boost is nonetheless quite welcome in the heart of winter.

1 - Prune

For its wealth in antioxidants

Its antioxidant properties (mesured by an ORAC index of 5770) as well as its wealth in fiber (7.35g for 100g) make it a regular of the particularly beneficial dried fruits tables!

 

 

 

2 - Garlic

For its versatility

Antimicrobial, antioxidant, great to stimulate the immune system, its reputation speaks for itself: it has taste but much more than that! Good to know: its active principles are better preserved raw than cooked.

 

 

3 - Edamame

For its proteins

The green soy beans – in other words fresh – contain vegetable proteins but are also rich in fibers and phosphorous.

 

 

 

 

4 - Pomegranate

For its antioxidants

Rich in polyphenols, pomegranates have protecting antioxidant benefits (its ORAC index is 3 037, higher than green tea). The “fruit of 400 grains” also has an interesting quantity of vitamin B6 and C. Another reason to sprinkle it in our fruit salads... but also veggie ones.
