In Thailand, vegetables are an art. In Asia, food is first enjoyed with the eyes! A short-lived art is practiced: sculpting fruits and vegetables... It is the Kae-Sa-Luk, born in 14th century Thailand! It is now part of the national and touristic heritage... It is even taught in Thai schools from the age of 11. Flowers, animals or mythological heroes are common figures.
This veggie tradition also exists in Japan – called the Mukimono.
